We installed a new IP rated power point for the pool equipment and then opened up the original power point and found the wires had been clamped onto the cable insulation instead of the bare copper. That can cause a loose connection, heat and a fire risk so we redid the connections properly.

The pool equipment now has a new IP rated power point, built to cope with outdoor conditions and the original power point has been properly reconnected.
